What is Hiring Interviews?

The process of hiring skilled people in the IT industry can be time consuming, costly, and difficult overall. Unfortunately the results are also not always what an employer expects and can lead to problems such as a lengthy fulfillment process, inappropriate staffing choices, and in some cases employee turnover. Situations such as these put employers at risk of negatively impacting productivity as well as suffering monetary losses due to poor staffing choices.

The concept behind Hiring Interviews is to provide an efficient, accurate, and unbiased evaluation of the skills and qualifications of potential candidates working in the Information Technology sector. Hiring Interviews is also an attempt to bring more honesty to the assessment of technical skill levels for job candidates and employees. It also serves as a time saver from having to find the right candidate for a position, allowing the hiring manager/company to view interviews at their leisure.

The end result is an electronic summary and evaluation of the identified strengths and weaknesses of a candidate as well as a determination of qualification for a job description provided by the employer. How It Works

Our company works with a recruiter / staffing agency, so why would we need Hiring Interviews?

Recruiters and staffing agencies are great at narrowing the field of candidates by evaluating overall characteristics such as personality, ability to work in a team environment, and to an extent, the basic technical abilities of a potential employee. For some job openings this is sufficient, but for many of the mid, senior, and even C-Level and Executive positions within the IT industry, a complete and accurate evaluation of the skill set of a candidate is simply not possible for a recruiter or agency to complete.

Hiring Interviews works closely with recruiters and staffing agencies to fill the technical void when it comes to evaluating a candidate. In doing so, staffing agencies have a higher rate of success in recommending candidates while employers are ensured all possible efforts have been taken to find the best fit possible for their staffing needs. How It Works

Who else uses 'Hiring Interviews'?

We've broken it up into three groups that would use 'Hiring Interviews'

Company: These are companies that are small, medium, or large that cannot afford or don't use recruiters but want to have quality technical validation.

Recruiters: These are recruiting companies that want to give added value or show candidates to their clients without having to do a full blown interview right away.

Job Seekers: These are people wanting to show a potential employer an actual interview and reference that an employer would like to see.

Does Hiring Interviews do recruiting or staffing?

No. Objectivity is critical in the success of Hiring Interviews and we feel this is best achieved by removing the staffing element from the equation. Instead we work closely with reputable recruiters and staffing agencies to identify initial candidates as well as engage employers who wish to do direct hire fulfillment.

What if I want specific questions asked or topics discussed during the interview?

The interview process draws on a series of predetermined questions and topics based on established criteria for a given position as well as experiences from professionals working within the industry. However, to ensure the best possible fit for a given position, we strongly encourage the employer to provide a comprehensive job description for the open position. In addition, any specific questions or topics can be provided in advance to allow for additional refinements in the interview and final selection process.

Please note that some questions or topics surrounding highly specialized or proprietary systems and technologies may require additional lead time.

What is the turnaround time for evaluating a candidate?

Once scheduled, the interview itself takes approximately one hour. Once completed, the collected information and video is evaluated and summarized and placed on the Hiring Interviews website for review. This process generally takes 48 hours to complete, but can be expedited upon request.

* C-Level and Executive screening as well as highly specialized technologies may require additional interview time and / or more than one interviewer.

Am I able to watch the interview?

Yes, but in order to save valuable time, the interviews are edited down to showcase particular strengths and weaknesses of a candidate. These are generally 10 to 15 minutes in length. The complete video can be made available upon request. Unfortunately Hiring Interviews does not allow for people to be present during the interview process itself.

How did it get started?

It got started from the frustration of hiring the wrong people and having to lose time and money on projects. As time went on, better interviewing techniques were learned and the quality of hiring the right people became more consistent. Through these interviewing lessons, we wanted to share them with all business having to learn the same lessons over and over again in their hiring process.

Where are you located?

We are located in Orlando, FL, where we conduct our face-to-face interviews. Currently we only do face-to-face interviews in Central Florida but as time goes on, we will expand to other areas. In the meantime, we can do interviews at a video conference location such as Kinko's for an additional charge. We can also try to make other arrangements, talk to us and we'll see how we can help you out.

Is this a video resume?

No, a video resume would be like a paper resume in the same sense. The problem is that an employer doesn't get the same info as in a face to face interview. This is a real interview assessing the qualifications of a potential candidate or a current employee. There is no bias for or against an employer or interviewee as we try to attain honest, objective, questions and responses.

Is this video that's 'on demand'?

Not really, we are a service oriented system in which we work with you to help hire the right candidates, by using an expert in the field that you want to hire. The interviews can be tailored to your needs, while at the same time giving expert assessments to make a good hiring decision or to validate current employee skills.
